Further information

For example, if you were used to using silicone spray in the past, it helps to be aware of the nature of our high-quality silicone paste.

If you spray silicone spray on parts (the best ones contain 5% silicone oil) you only remove a little dirt to leave a negligible amount of silicone oil. This is why you have to re-spray regularly. Silicone spray gives an impression of lubrication, nothing more. This can be illustrated using the example of fans: Indeed, it is necessary to use oil on the axles of the fans and, if present, also on the bearings.

Our silicone pastes do not melt even under load and therefore remain where they are applied; small tolerances and plastic products can cause noise, vibrations and sometimes malfunctions.

It is therefore not advisable to allow fat to accumulate between components.

For these fine applications, we recommend “removing” our silicone paste (also with a dry cloth) (or massaging it in as if on a table surface). You will now have the impression that you have completely removed the silicone paste, but in fact it will have saturated the pores of the surfaces and created a protective and lubricating film. You can’t see it, but it’s there.

If you want to carry out a test, you can massage it onto the fan blades or another surface until you no longer see any trace of the paste. Then try to wet them and the water will slide off like dirt. Of course, this will not last forever, but for a sufficient period of time.

If you want to improve the yield and duration of your lubrication even further, we recommend our silicone paste with 50% PTFE, as PTFE has better lubricating properties. Silicone grease in itself is not a dynamic lubricant. Unfortunately, this is often misunderstood.
